Events
At Cook Children’s, we are dedicated to providing the best possible care for our patients and their families, and we rely on the generosity of our community to help us do so. Our fundraising events are a critical part of our efforts to raise the funds needed to support groundbreaking research, innovative treatments, and the cutting-edge technology that improves the lives of our patients. From charity runs and galas to bake sales and auctions, these events bring together individuals and organizations from all walks of life who share our commitment to making a real difference in the world.
The Blast
The Blast was started to honor the promise Alexa Sankary made to her friend, Michael Mancuso, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of four. Before he passed away just three years later, she promised him she would help find a cure for children still suffering from this rare and aggressive form of cancer.
In the 16 years since that sweet promise, The Blast has become a wonderful community walk honoring Michael’s memory and every child fighting pediatric cancer. It celebrates the courage and strength of Cook Children's patients and families and the staff who support them.
Please join us as we make it our mission to #blastawaycancer.

Cook Children's Day at the Rodeo
We know how important it is to spend time with the people you care about, and there's no better way to spend time than attending Cook Children's Day at the Rodeo! So gather up your cowboys and cowgirls and join us on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023. It's a great way for your family and friends to get out and have fun while also helping us take care of our youngest patients!
Half of the cost of your tickets to that night's show will benefit Cook Children's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
